How the Woman at the Well Became the Well Woman

A new book by author Donna Rhodes

Coming in Spring 2016

ABOUT THE BOOK

Fear gripped its icy fingers around Donna’s seven-year old heart as she sat on the old, worn attic steps and heard her mother say, “They’re coming to take the kids away tomorrow.” Born the seventh of ten children to a welfare mother and a father who left the family when she was four years old, she chronicles her journey through the dismantling of her family, foster care, institutionalized living, failed relationships, cult membership, spiritual abuse, raising four children alone, and poverty.

Donna takes readers down the many dead end roads she travelled as she struggled to make sense of her life and find her way home.

Using a play on her last name, she aptly titles chapters such as “Deserted Roads” and “Slippery Roads” to describe the physical, emotional and spiritual crises that befall us when we don’t have a sense of God’s roadmap for our lives. Through powerful testimony, Donna shows readers how to equip themselves for their own unique journeys. The result is a proven, well-traveled road, which leads to hope and wholeness --- no matter how difficult the trip.

This is a story of survival, perseverance, unconditional love, and redemption.  The journey may not be an easy one to read, but you will take away a message that will transform your life forever.
